Marta Martínez, awarded the iDanae prize for women with an excellent STEM career
The iDanae Chair (intelligence, data, analysis and strategy) for Big Data and Analytics, created as part of a collaboration between the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and Management Solutions, organized the 3rd iDanae Award for women with an excellent STEM career with the aim of adding visibility to the academic and professional careers of women in STEM and expanding the base of female talent in these areas
After evaluating the applications received, the iDanae Chair Follow-Up Committee decided to award the Prize to Ms. Marta Martínez Alonso, Senior advisor at CVC Partners. The jury's decision sought to recognize the long and successful professional career of Marta, who was IBM’s General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa until March 2022 and President for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel during the eight previous years. Marta is also an independent member of the Board of Directors of Acerinox, Tendam and UAX, and a member of Mapfre’s Technology Advisory Board.
The jury also awarded runner-up prizes to publicly acknowledge the professional careers of Ms. Verónica Nieves (Universidad de Valencia), Ms. Natalia Díaz Rodríguez (University of Granada) and Ms. Celia Perales Viejo (Fundación Jiménez Díaz).
Both the first prize and the runner-up prizes will be handed out during the iDanae Chair’s annual presentation, which will take place on November 28 at the Royal Academy of Sciences (click here for more information).
